Did you know that Vertex at Yanchep was developed just 800m from the proposed Yanchep train station?
Construction on the Yanchep station, part of the State Government’s Metronet Yanchep rail extension, has been earmarked to begin in 2019 and is expected to take several years.
The Yanchep rail extension will be built to service the population between Jindalee and Two Rocks which is expected to grow to 56,000 by 2020, along with proposed stops at Alkimos and Eglinton.
The government said it hoped the new stations would help local families connect to places of work, entertainment and recreation and “give thousands of extra commuters the opportunity to catch a train…”
The new station is expected to reduce travel time for Yanchep residents, who will be able to commute to Joondalup by train in 20 minutes and the Perth CBD in less than 50 minutes.
Garth from LWP Property Group welcomed the construction start date saying the new transport infrastructure would increase land values in the area and appeal to buyers who may have to commute for work.
“Buying in early to a development often means residents get the benefit of facilities and services as the development grows and the capital growth that goes with it which is always good news,” he said.
The 13.65km extension will include three stations, each with 500 to 1000 car bays.
